Other than the fact that there were major breakups, 2012 was an
amazing year for Nigerian music all over the world. From the Afrobeats
crase in the UK which is dominated by Nigerian music to the big music
and video features from international artists on songs by Nigerian
artist; we (all Nigerian music stakeholders at home and abroad) did an
exceptional job in spreading the music to other regions outside of
Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
Also, in 2012 a number of upcoming artists moved into the ‘established’ level and some are on their way to ‘superstar’ status.
Enough of the talking, lets get to the voting. The idea is that you
pick your Top 20 songs that you enjoyed the most in 2012. So please feel
free to vote for a maximum of 20 songs below between now and next
Tuesday January 15 @ 11:59 pm Nigerian time. The final TOP 20 songs will
be determined by the highest votes and announced on January 16.
